Property consultancy LRG has promoted Justine Edmonds to Director of its Build to Rent division, advancing from her previous position as Head of Build to Rent and Leasing Strategies.

Edmonds, who has over 20 years of experience in the UK property sector, has been responsible for developing LRG’s BTR operations since joining the firm. Her work has focused on development appraisal, design review, market positioning and long-term asset optimisation for institutional investors.

BTR sector evolution

In her new role, Edmonds will continue to oversee LRG Living Markets, the firm’s consumer-focused division which she helped establish. Her responsibilities include advising UK and international investors on BTR schemes, with particular emphasis on pre-planning yield analysis.

Edmonds holds qualifications in interior design and is a member of both the British Property Federation and RICS.

Michael Cook, Chief Executive Officer of LRG, said: “Justine combines deep sector knowledge of what makes Build to Rent assets succeed over the long term. She has built outstanding relationships across the investment and development landscape and has helped shape an operating model that is commercially strong and genuinely resident-focused.”

Commenting on the appointment, Edmonds said: “BTR is maturing quickly. Investors are asking sharper questions about operating costs, resident outcomes and long-term resilience, not just initial lease-up. My focus has always been on helping schemes succeed across the full lifecycle, from early appraisal through to mobilisation and optimisation.”

The promotion reflects the growing institutional interest in the BTR sector, which has seen increased scrutiny of operational performance and lifecycle costs as the market develops beyond initial lease-up phases.
