James Shaw, chief commercial officer at Sykes Holiday Cottages, said: “To help prospective owners identify destinations with dependable, all-season appeal, we’ve compiled a ranking of the UK best regions for winter income. These locations are proven, year-round earners that continue to deliver strong returns whatever the season.

“We’re increasingly hearing from prospective owners who are keen to understand how their property can perform beyond the summer months. But it’s important to remember that it’s not just location that plays a part. There are also changes that can be made to a property to attract more winter bookings.

“From adding cosy features like log burners and hot tubs, to ensuring excellent insulation and creating inviting outdoor spaces, small touches can make a big difference to winter appeal.”

In the Cotswolds owners net £29,000 in revenue throughout the year, in the Peak District £26,800 on average, and in Cumbria & the Lake District (£27,400).
